How many of you believe this world is a dream?
It’s hard to believe it’s a dream because we can touch, taste, and smell this world, the world of the senses, which is the world of the ego.
But it’s imperative that you believe this world is a dream to understand forgiveness.

Here’s a scenario of how our thinking works;
I’m God and I offer you a gift. I hold out my hand and say “Here is immortality”. And you turn to me and your holding two arms full of mangos and you say” your concept sounds really cool and I would like to try it, but; I really love these mangos, I love the way they taste, I love the way they feel, I love the way they smell, can I take your gift after I’m done with these mangos?

You see we are caught up in the world of the senses, that’s the ego world. The world that appears real, and it’s very hard to put that aside or let go of it. We tend to hold on to the mangos in life thinking they are more real than God, than Love, than peace or happiness.

Think of this world as a sleeping dream, only slower. You go to sleep at night and when you start dreaming you create a complete world. You create the buildings, the trees, the ocean, people etc. If I asked you, when you woke up, to explain your dream to me and you did, and then I asked you if it seemed real while you were in it, you would respond with; Yes! You are the Observer & the Observed!

The fact is; when you drop the body you will wake up, and realize this too was also a dream.

How do you drop the body? Two ways; one is to die and the other is to forgive the illusion the ego has created that you made real.

There are two kinds of Forgiveness. “Ego” based and a spirit based.

What do we mean by ego based forgiveness?
This is when you choose to judge someone as doing you wrong and then choose to raise yourself above them to offer your personal forgiveness. This only supports more separation. It reinforces fear based thinking.

What is spirit based forgiveness?
This is the process of realizing that this world is not real (only a Dream) then embracing the act that occurred, and understanding that it never really happened. It’s all part of your dream. And, yes, there is only one of you in this dream. You have created all the events in your mind, as well as all the people and objects around you through fear.

Think of it this way; you go to sleep and have a dream that someone has killed your lover (partner) in front of you. You wake up scared, hurt and angry. Then you realize he or she is right next to you sleeping, just fine. You say to yourself “oh… it was only a dream”.
Who is there to forgive? Obviously no one; because it never happened. That is also, the way it is, in what you perceive as the waking world.

So let’s outline the process of forgiveness;
First you realize it was all a dream.
Then you forgive yourself for projecting the images and events or creating them. What you see as needing your judgment, is really some form of your own belief system revealing itself to you through others. They should be blessed for this, not judged. It is all your projection and perception of the events.
You now understand that the cause of the problem is your temporary belief in the separation you had from God.

Next, you put your trust in the strength of the Holy Spirit. And dissolve from your mind what you thought happened.

You literally forgive the world that doesn’t exist. For that world appears to be separate from you at your moments of judgment.

Here’s an analogy that I feel will help you understand the process of forgiveness.
You have a room that is your special sitting room in your home. This room has a light in it, with an unusual shine; when you stand in front of it you feel really warm gentle and loving. Then one day you decide the room needs to be changed around, redecorated. You remember a mirror that you saw when shopping one day and you go out and purchase it.

You decided to put it up in front of the light. You come into the room one day and are very angry at your spouse; you look in the mirror and punch it. It breaks into a lot of little pieces but they remain on the wall.

You suddenly notice that your face is now in all the pieces and is still a complete image. As you look at one piece you see the look of anger. You pick that piece off the mirror and stare at it. You then embrace it. You realize it’s not real it’s just a reflection of you. You forgive the image and throw it away.

The next day you approach the mirror and you see images of fear, so you repeat the process of removing the piece of mirror and studying it, blessing it, forgiving it, and throwing it away. The following day you see the face of resentment and you go through the same process. Each time you look back to the mirror you feel a little freer, a little better about who you are. Each day as you find more and more fearful faces in the mirror, you remove each piece, until; one day there are no more pieces to be found. You look into the mirror and see the light, which was always there. And you realize this is who you always were.

You see the secret to Heaven on Earth is in forgiveness. When you can forgive all the fears you carry with you, you will find peace.

The "Course in MIracles" teaches us "Fear binds the world",. This is what makes it appear solid. The slower vibrations of fear make the world and all of us in it appear to be real. But when we can eliminate those fears then we will raise our vibrations and in turn move toward being enlightened.

It is said, Jesus never felt the nails being put into his hands because he had no fear, no judgment, the world to him was soft, and his message was not one of sacrifice but one of “Teach only Love”. Forgiveness does that for you.
